"Is not this the kind of fasting I have chosen: to loose the chains of injustice
and untie the cords of the yoke, to set the oppressed free and break every yoke?

Is it not to share your food with the

hungry and to provide the poor wanderer with shelter — when you see the naked, to clothe them, and not to turn away from your own flesh and blood?" Isaiah 58: 6-7 (NIV)

In 2020, we supported three tiers of displaced foreigners in our country:

1. Stranded social visit pass holders who have become unable to afford housing and food due to lockdowns in their home countries and who are waiting to return home (we have assisted Ecuadorians, Sri Lankans, Indians, Vietnamese, Filipinos etc to find safe shelter and return home)

2. Male and female guest workers who reside outside of the 43 purpose-built dormitories and 1,200 factory converted dormitories (Targeting mainly S Pass holders, work permit holders and special pass holders at risk of displacement or already displaced) [As of 2021 our guest worker programme is officially closed]

3. Stranded foreign students who are stuck in Singapore due to the lockdowns in their own home countries and CB measures in Singapore not allowing them to fulfil their on-the-job

training requirements. [As of 2021 our student programme intake is officially closed]

We currently provide short term support to Stranded social visit pass holders, providing assistance to these foreigners struggling to meet basic needs of subsistence and/or shelter following the COVID-19 outbreak.
